As a photographer, I’m often pulled away from what I’m doing by the light dancing off a pretty flower or the angle of the shadows in the garden. Such was the case the other day when I was washing dishes and the light hit the roses I’d cut and placed by my sink. I left the dishes and moved the roses to a different window, set up my tripod, and proceeded to do a study in petals sidelit and backlit by the afternoon sun. Here are some of my results.
